About

Peace of Mind. Order. Security. Legacy.

Unique plans.

Traditionally the sole purpose of estate planning is to create a clear plan of instructions for the management and distribution of one's property through a will or trust.  Although this is a vital part of estate planning. At Henderson-Smith Law I think it is not the most important part for parents.

As parents, the most important part of estate planning is to create a plan of instructions for the care of your most important asset, your child, in the event that something happens to you. That's why each plan includes a child emergency care package to address short-term care with emergency contacts to long- term care with the nomination of a permanent guardian and everything in between.

As parents, the second most important part of estate planning is to create a plan of instructions for your personal care in the event you are temporarily unable to care for yourself. It is important that everyday decisions such as paying your mortgage or rent and buying groceries can be made. It is also important that the quality of life you desire during an illness is known to your caretakers and love ones. That's why each plan includes powers of attorney for property and health care directives to address situations such as these.

As parents, the third most important part of estate planning is to create a plan of instructions for the management and distribution of your property. This is where you can address the long-term financial care of your child along with any other desired distributions to your family, friends, charity, etc. This can be centered around a will for management after death or centered around a trust for management during life and after death.

At Henderson-Smith Law I believe each family is unique and each family deserves a unique estate plan that ensures each family's goals are met and each family's legacy is preserved through peace of mind, order and security.

Principal

I have a deep love for Jesus Christ and served as the Kids’ City (children’s ministry) Director for many years at Community Christian Church, Romeoville Campus.  As a children’s ministry director I developed strong long lasting relationships serving and supporting many families in various stages of their life journey.  Now with a focus on estate planning, my desire is to continue to build relationships and support families in developing plans to protect their families and assets through the many stages of their life journey.

I am a wife and mother of three. When I'm not working I'm usually hanging out with my family, tutoring students through an academic enrichment program, volunteering with Lakeside Worship Center producing Sunday services or with AARP as a Taxaide.
